Tax & Compliance Manager
Compliance Oversight
· Overseeing the tax compliance process for the entire company, including subsidiaries and other offices
· Ensuring all tax filings and payments are submitted accurately and on time (national and local)
· Developing and implementing internal controls to minimize tax risks
· Preparing the organization for tax audits and interacting with auditors
Tax Expertise
· Staying updated on tax law changes and their impact on the company
· Analyzing tax strategies to optimize tax liabilities
· Collaborating with tax advisors and accountants
Leadership and Management
· Leading a team of tax professionals, which may include senior associates and analysts
· Providing guidance and mentorship to junior staff
Additional Responsibilities
· Preparing financial statements relevant to tax calculations
· Managing other areas of compliance, such as sales tax or unclaimed property
· Researching and applying for tax benefits or exemptions
Qualifications:
- Work Experience: Typically, 5-7 years of experience in tax, accounting, or compliance roles.
- Must be a bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA): Highly preferred or required
- Management Experience: Experience managing a team or leading projects.
- In-depth knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software and accounting systems.
