A partsman is an essential link in the automotive service chain, ensuring that technicians have the right parts to perform repairs efficiently, ultimately contributing to customer satisfaction and the smooth operation of the business.
This role requires a strong understanding of automotive components and systems, as well as effective organizational and communication skills.
• Follow timely schedule of spare parts pick-up
• Check ordered spare parts from the manufacturers, distributor (JMC) or from other suppliers
• Prepare spare parts and other products to Customer and other dealers with complete documentation
• In-charge on preparation and ensuring that items for delivery conforms with the documents On-hand in terms of quantities, correctness and quality
• Ensures that parts received/picked-up from the manufacturers or other
suppliers are in Conformity with the other slip/s in terms of quantities, correctness and quality
• Responsible for the maintaining, monitoring of parts inventory
• In-charge on coordinating and scheduling the parts pick-up from JMC Phils. or in other supplier
• In-charge on parts or consumables that are not acceptable are to be identified as not suitable for use and placed in a quarantine area for parts return to
supplier and credit including parts warranty.
• Responsible for preparing invoices and packing slips as acceptance for data entry
• Responsible for following data entry, all relevant documentation is collated in the correct order and forwarded for payment and filing
• Parts are promptly binned in their correct location and in appropriate protective packaging.
• Responsible for specific storage locations are provided for every line item.
• Assist Service Manager for periodic performance study to measure parts fill rate to the workshop, from the back order and counter sales.
• Assist Service Manager on generating parts sales thru parts over the counter sales
• Cooperate to accounting during parts inventory count and acknowledge all discrepancies
• Performs warehouse duties and other tasks that may be assigned as the need arise
