We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Technician – Mobile Service to lead and perform mobile vehicle repair and maintenance services at customer locations. The ideal candidate will have strong diagnostic skills, leadership abilities, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service in a mobile setting.
- Perform advanced diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on a wide range of vehicles (light-trucks) in the field.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for mobile service operations and ensure a professional and efficient service experience.
- Oversee and assist with scheduling, route planning, and coordination of mobile service calls.
- Maintain accurate service records, repair orders, and customer communication via mobile devices or shop management software.
- Mentor and provide technical support to junior technicians or apprentices in the field.
- Ensure all tools, parts, and equipment are stocked and properly maintained in the service vehicle.
- Comply with all safety regulations, environmental laws, and company policies.
- Conduct pre-repair and post-repair inspections to ensure quality and completeness.
- Communicate effectively with customers to explain diagnoses, repair options, and provide estimates when required.
- Act as a brand ambassador for the company, delivering professional and courteous service at all times.
- 5+ years of experience as an automotive technician, with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior role.
- NC1 and NC2 certifications preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong knowledge of modern vehicle systems, diagnostic tools, and repair procedures.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in various field conditions.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Must be physically able to lift heavy parts, stand for long periods, and work in a variety of weather conditions.
- Experience working in a mobile automotive service environment.
- OEM certifications or dealer training.
- Familiarity with fleet maintenance and repair.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Field-based/mobile work with travel to customer sites.
- May require flexible hours, including evenings or weekends based on customer needs.
Work performed in outdoor and sometimes unpredictable environments.
