Job Title: Accounting Supervisor

Job Summary:
The Accounting Supervisor oversees daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with internal controls and financial regulations. This role is responsible for managing a team of accounting staff, preparing financial reports, and supporting audits and month-end closings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the accounting team (e.g., accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations).
  • Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparation of financial reports.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of all financial information in accordance with GAAP (or other applicable standards).
  • Support external and internal audits by preparing schedules and documentation as needed.
  • Monitor and enforce internal controls and company accounting policies and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to increase efficiency.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate accounting staff performance; assist with hiring and onboarding as needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support overall financial goals and business operations.
  • Stay up to date with changes in accounting regulations and technology.

Qualifications:
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • CPA or CMA certification preferred.
Experience:
  • 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • 1–2+ years in a supervisory or team lead role preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices (GAAP, IFRS, etc.).
Skills:
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
  • Strong Excel skills and familiarity with data analysis tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions:
  • Standard office hours with some overtime required during peak periods (e.g., month-end close, audits).
