Vehicle PDI Job Description
Job Title: Vehicle PDI Technician / Pre-Delivery Inspection
Department: Operations - Inventory
Reports To: Inventory Manager


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) on new vehicles according to manufacturer checklists and standards.
  • Inspect vehicles for damage or defects during transport.
  • Perform basic mechanical checks: fluid levels, battery condition, tire pressure, lights, brakes, etc.
  • Install accessories or options (floor mats, wheel covers, spoilers, infotainment updates, etc.).
  • Verify software and firmware updates where required.
  • Clean and detail vehicles (interior and exterior) to showroom standard.
  • Report any defects, damage, or non-conformities and coordinate repairs.
  • Ensure completion of all required documentation and inspection reports.
  • Assist in parking, moving, or organizing vehicles on-site.

Requirements
Skills & Experience
  • Experience in automotive service or PDI is preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic vehicle systems and components.
  • Ability to use diagnostic and inspection tools.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Professional driver’s license (A, B, C,)
  • Attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working outdoors and in workshop environments.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Automotive Technical Certification (optional but beneficial)

Experience with light trucks.

  • Familiarity with OEM PDI procedures (e.g., Toyota, Ford, Tesla, etc.)
